My name is Joan Malone. I live in Chunchula, AL. I met you at the Galeria in Birmingham at a Soil and Water Conservation meeting. I gave the devotion for the meeting but had to leave before your presentation and you so graciously gave me a copy of your book. I will turn 50 this September and your book made me realize I need to be aware of the "Old Lady Syndrome", which is trying to attach itself to me. Fabulous after Fifty is definitely an answer to prayer! My life greatly changed 4 years ago when mu husband and I accepted a job, which requires much travel. It has brought about crisis instead of growth and change where my health and fitness is concerned. I have gained 35 lbs. in this 4 years and am in the middle of finding a balance for my hormones with my doctor's help. So far we have tried two different hormones and am still having problems. Also, I've had lazer surgery twice in the past two years for pre-cancer cells. So... needless to say I feel as though I am a pile a ruins. Your book encouraged me to begin afresh trusting God for my restoration. No matter how great the ruins, God is able to restore my new motto. I am beginning from scratch with exercise. Six years ago my husband and I climbed Mt. LeConte in Tennessee, but that's the past and this is now. Now i am at the time of renewal seeking God for new identity of power, Style and Vigor. (see how you've helped me?) I love walking outdoors but traveling that is not always possible. I was wondering if maybe I just simply need to begin with some stretches. Is there a Christian video series you can recommend? I would like another book to share with my pastors wife at First Baptist Church of Citronelle.
