... Dr. James C. Upchurch, GYN... was born, married and educated in Birmingham, Alabama, and is the father of four grown children. After graduating from the Medical College of Alabama, Dr. Upchurch served four years in the U.S. Air Force as a Lieutenant and then Captain. Following his military service, Dr. Upchurch finished his residency in OB-GYN and now has practiced for 32 years in Birmingham. He has written several articles which have been published in medical journals including the "American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology ", and also produces medical video tapes for the education of patients and physicians......

Goodwin, Ph.D., R.D. ... is an Assistant Professor of Nutrition and Director of the Didactic Program in Dietetics at her Institution, Jacksonville State University in Alabama, where she has taught for the past 22 years. In addition, she is a freelance writer and community speaker. Dr. Goodwin has received the "Outstanding Teacher Award" in 1994, and is an active member of the American Dietetic Association . For several years, Dr. Goodwin combined her love of cooking with a quest for health and authored a column entitled "LIGHTEN-UP" in a local newspaper in which she modified readers' favorite recipes into healthier versions. Dr. Goodwin recently received her "Doctorate" in Health Education / Health Promotion, and currently speaks to community groups on "Eating for Health."
