The Lady's Journal is Shirley's personal notepage for Fabulous after 50. This will be updated on a daily basis or as things change with scheduling. This will give the readers, and those who are thinking of engaging Shirley for an event, an up-to-date available time frame to go by.
...On Jan. 22, 2005 - National Author/Columnist/Speaker, Shirley W. Mitchell, was recently honored with the "Citizen of the Year Award" by the Albertville Chamber of Commerce in Albertville, Alabama, as the Chamber celebrated its theme "A New Beginning" for its 50th Annual membership meeting and banquet. The "Citizen of the Year" was introduced with a short video by those who knew her well as the new Chamber Chairman, Dr. Allen Champion made the presentation of the plaque to Shirley Mitchell. A very surprised Mitchell invited her family to join her on stage, as she told about her Albertville "roots." Former Citizens of the Year were also on hand to congratulate her, as well as Representative Frank Mc Daniel, D-Albertville.
Mitchell stated, "My grandfather was a share-cropper and we lived in a house where you could see through the floor. The community has been the one thing that has given me the power to overcome those humble beginnings, and through it I learned passion plus persistence pays off."

The Albertville Chamber has recently hired a new "President", Jennifer Moore Palmer - We at Fabulous after 50 wish her the best in her new position. We thank the City of Albertville and the Albertville Chamber of Commerce for bestowing this honor on Ms. Mitchell.
We added yet another Website to our Fabulous Website System called "CrosstownInfo" - A uniquely different and interesting Website for "Individuals and Businesses" to list their profiles and Business Ads. The Best View in town is at "Crosstown" - Let the Detours show you the way...!
And we are in the process of remodeling two of the Websites,"Sensational after Sixty" and "Aging Outside the Box Women", in the "The Shirley System" - Our Interactive Website System that is in place. You will still be able to visit and explore the Websites while we are in the remodeling stage We are adding new pages, new links, new content... Come and join the Fun...!!!
We have just added another website to our System - "Fabulous after Fifty-The Memories" - which will be our new "After Event" Site to post the Events we have done...
